I Got 'Em

Success!  I have new eyes! It truly is an amazing thing to wake up in the morning and see the alarm clock!  Or in the middle of the night for that matter.

The surgery was as freaky as I thought it was going to be.  I don't think the Valium worked well for me.  But just about the time I thought, "I don't know if I can do this any more" it was done.  Sitting up, everything looked like I was underwater, but it was so very clear compared to life before.  And after a 4 hour nap, I woke up and it was just like I had my contacts in!  Even now I catch myself just thinking I have contacts in, but then oh yeah, right!  I don't!

Right now I three different eye drops I have to use at least 4 times a day and that will be like that for about 3 weeks.  But once that is done, I will have nothing to deal with!  That is amazing!  For crying out loud, next time I travel, I can just bring a toothbrush and be good.  And oh, the joy of not having to take my contacts out before bed and to put them back in in the mornings!

It's crazy how fast life gets back to normal after this procedure.  By the evening of the surgery, I was watching TV and knitting.  The next day I had a follow up appointment and it took Noah longer to get gas than it did for the doctor to check to make sure things were healing right.  Amazing!

Thanks for all your prayers and comments!  It means a whole lot!  And praise God for new eyes!
