Morning People

I am one of those.
At least when I sleep enough. But really, most of the time, I would much rather go to bed and get up earlier to deal with whatever it is. Starting in Junior High, I would get up at 5:30 to do homework instead of slugging through it at night. Many many times as a teacher, I would rise at 5 to finish grading papers, because I could deal so much better.

I really enjoy the quiet, soft stillness of the morning. So, this morning, after Elliot got up to nurse at 5:00, I got up too. I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee with no interruptions, take in the sunrise over the lake, watch a little News, all before 8 when Forrest got up.

My mom says that sometimes you need the solitude more than sleep. Such was the case this morning.

  2. I too am a morning person. I do it for the same reasons. Alone, quiet, the coffee is still hot when I drink it.

  3. Oh, I might just hate you. I am decidedly NOT a morning person, but am forced to pretend to be one due to (1) a job that starts at 7:15 in the morning and (2) children who rise at a ridiculous hour in the morning EVEN ON WEEKENDS. There are times I wonder where they came from.
