Cookies

So, my question is, when do you get to claim a recipe as your own? After you've changed two ingredients? Four?

A couple of weeks ago we had part of the seasonal staff over and I make these cookies. Noah requested them again tonight, so after a quick stop at the trading post (got to love having a store right on camp property, you know, for all your pop and candy needs) I had what I needed.

This reciepe started out as "Nurse Becky Cookies" from the Barakel Cook Book, but I modified it. So, can I now call it mine? How about Yummy Goodness Cookies? That was Noah's suggestion.

Anyway. So here's the recipe. Be it a modification of "Nurse Becky Cookies" or Yummy Goodness Cookies

3/4 c white sugar
3/4 c brown sugar (you do know you don't need brown, you can just use another 3/4 white, right?)
1 c butter

2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla (make sure it's the real stuff, preferably from somewhere south of the border)

1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 c white flour
1 c whole wheat flour (alright, alright, just add another cup white if you don't have the whole wheat)

2- 2 1/2 c semi sweet chocolate chips (who are we kidding, why would you only add 2 cups?)
2 snickers bars, chopped up

Cream butter and sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla.

Add in the flours, salt, and baking soda. Mix together. Add in chocolate chips and snicker chunks.

Spoon on to ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 for about 12 minutes.

Enjoy!

  1. I'm sure Nurse Becky is the type of lady that would be thrilled that you make her cookies- changes or not.
And you ALWAYS need white and brown sugar. Who are you trying to fool?

  5. Liz, Liz, Liz. You ask too many questions. I could eat brown sugar out of the bag, I like it that much. Speaking of brown sugar, I posted a long time ago about Cheerios with brown sugar on them and the majority thought I was nuts. Have you ever tried them that way?
(P.S. I also think Kamper Cookies has a nice ring to it.)

Ha ha my word verification is "lickin"!
