So, if you can, watch the inauguration today. Trust me, there will be a history teacher somewhere, someday, that will assign your grandkid an essay about "Where were your Grandparents when President Obama was inaugurated." So, you don't want to disappoint those cute little grandbabies, watch it today.
This message brought you by your friendly local history teacher.
I was just telling my kids about that. They already have such a different, and wonderful view of race than our generations and older. Hannah's fest friend is black and she just can't imagine a world that people aren't the same just because of color. Isn't that great?
ReplyDeleteI'm watching. My kids get to watch the swearing in during their classes. I'm glad so they can tell their kids where they were too.
OK, now I feel guilty for not watching a historic moment. I,too, believe this is a good time for kids to learn about race. It's too bad there has to be such a thing. We moved into our house almost 30 years ago next to one of the few black families in Zeeland. My kids grew up next door to them and for that I am grateful.
